The event, a true celebration of creativity and diversity, showcased the immense talent and cultural richness of our college community. The event was a resounding success, with a large turnout from students and faculties .It provided a platform for everyone to connect, celebrate, and appreciate the diverse talents and cultures that make up our college.
The competitive spirit was alive and well, with students participating in a range of contests, from solo singing and group dance to quiz competitions. The enthusiasm and energy of the participants were truly inspiring, and the winners were awarded fantastic prizes for their outstanding performances. Many sports events were conducted like cricket, volleyball, throw ball, KHO-KHO.

World Optometry Day 2024
World Optometry Day 2024 celebration was held on 22/04/2024 - 24/04/2024 at Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences. World Optometry Day is a day that celebrates optometrists and their contributions to vision care and eye health around the world. Faculties and students from the Department of Optometry have organized the program and students from other colleges have participated. Various programs have been conducted on behalf of the Optometry Day celebration. Starting from banner revealing, flashmob, free contact lens camp and free trial lenses were fitted to students and patient on the first day. Off stage events like poetry writing, eye painting, Pencil sketch, Nail art, Mehandi, rangoli and fun games like blow the ball, hopscotch, T-shirt painting, Chess, memorize at the Spot, Guess the Pieces were conducted on the second day. Followed by third day, Seminar was conducted on topic “Role of optometry in empowering sight” guest speaker Mr. E Chandrasekar M.Optom, Assistant Professor, Regional Institute of Ophthalmology & Mr. Santosh J M. Optom, MHA, Assistant Manager, Kauvery Hospitals shared their inspiring knowledge and importance of Optometrist role. Optometrists are an integral part of well-rounded eye and vision care, providing routine comprehensive eye exams to check the health of eyes and the clarity of vision. Optometrists prescribe glasses and contacts, and see patients with other eye care needs.
World Optometry Day is a significant observation for both providers and patients and to create awareness about the profession and their role and responsibility in health care.

The community outreach programme was conducted as part of the Unnat Bharath Abhiyan, a flagship program of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. The students enquired the village residents about their family details, education, income, profession in addition to their awareness and access to various government schemes. The team from Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences also surveyed their general & medical requirements.

Puthagam - A Book donation drive
A book donation drive titled ‘Puthagam’ was carried out throughout the last week of February by the Rotaract Club of Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences. The student volunteers placed drop boxes all over the Thandalam campus and spread awareness about the book donation drive. Around 504 books ranging from school books, textbooks, self-help books and story books were collected in this book donation drive

CME & Workshop for OTAT Students
A CME and Workshop was conducted on 26th February, 2022 for the students of Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology, under the department of Anaesthesiology, Saveetha Medical College and Hospital. The theme of the programme was ‘Committed to Care’. Lectures on the topic Supraglottic Airway Devices, Non-invasive monitoring, Safe Practices in Operation Theatre and Ethics in Anaesthesia were delivered by in house faculties and invited speakers. The event also included a workshop providing hands on training in Airway Management in Simulated Environment.

Rotaract Week
Rotaract Club of Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences (RCSCAHS) observed the Rotaract week from 7th – 14th March, 2022. UN Peace Oath was administered to over 200 students to mark the day of Peace and Conflict prevention/resolution. In order to signify ‘Disease Prevention and Treatment’ the students launched a project titled ‘Piniyilla Manithan’ in which simple first aid techniques are shared every week. With a vision of taking safe sanitary practices to the next generation, the RCSCAHS members visited the Panchayat Union Middle School, Agaramel Nazarathpet and taught hand sanitation to over 150 students.

A guest lecture on ‘Basics of mechanical ventilators’ was conducted by Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences for students working in Intensive Care Units and dealing with mechanical ventilators. Around 100 undergraduate and postgraduate students belonging to various departments such as Respiratory therapy, Critical Care Technology, Trauma Care Management, Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia technology, Dialysis technology and Cardiovascular perfusion technology attended and benefitted from the lecture. The Department of Public health and Preventive medicine, Government of Tamilnadu organised an awareness generation meeting on control and prevention of Dengue to students of Saveetha Colleges of Allied Health Sciences, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences. Around 35 students from Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences participated in Clean cooum campaign. The lead organization is the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) along with other personnels from CSIF, CRPF and Greater Chennai corporation. The Vice Chancellor - SIMATS and other faculties along with NDRF personnels participated in the event.
