Pulmonary disease awareness can encourage people with symptoms to seek help earlier and also improving their quality of life. Students gave awareness on risks of smoking, exposure to harmful substances on pollution and workplace chemicals which could cause lung disease and also measures to prevent it.
The students of Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences along with faculty members, conducted Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Survey and community outreach programmes periodically at the Kodancherry village, Thiruvallur district. The community outreach programme was conducted as part of the Unnat Bharath Abhiyan, a flagship program of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. The students enquired the village residents about their family details, education, income, profession in addition to their awareness and access to various government schemes. The team from Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences also surveyed their general & medical requirements. 480 families of the Kodancherry village benefitted from this Unnat Bharath Abhiyan survey and community outreach program. Free eye camps were also conducted at regular intervals.
